Cristian Opriș

Research assistant, RA

Mr. Eng. Cristian-Ovidiu OPRIȘ is employed in the Department of Electronic Technology and Reliability within the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology, where he carries out specific activities in the Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory. He has over twenty years of professional experience in the field of electronics, during which his work has been consistently oriented towards addressing emerging challenges in the rapidly evolving domain of electronic components and systems. His expertise has been further consolidated through involvement in courses such as Reliability and Maintainability of Electronic Systems, Advanced Techniques in System Safety, and Defect Diagnosis and Design for Testability, each providing opportunities to engage in projects characterized by a substantial practical component and sustained individual research.

His research interests have broadened to include the study and development of various types of sensors with applications in medical prosthetics, access control and physical security, as well as the automotive industry. Among the sensors he has designed and constructed are devices based on Velostat—a carbon-based composite material exhibiting high sensitivity to temperature variations and tactile pressure, depending on the design requirements.

His scientific activity has resulted in the publication of several papers in conference proceedings indexed in internationally recognized databases. His main areas of interest include signal interference, electromagnetic compatibility, and the operational safety of complex systems and components, with a focus on reliability, maintainability, quality, and system security.
