Alexandru Tapu is a senior engineer with 8 years of experience in industrial research and development, specializing in embedded systems, electronics, and advanced instrumentation. His technical expertise includes the design and testing of onboard computers for supersonic rockets (2019–present), as well as contributions to intelligent navigation systems through the NavigAIte project (2025), which focuses on inertial navigation enhanced by artificial intelligence algorithms.
He has been actively involved in applied innovation across multiple domains, including solid-state lighting, optoelectronics, and space instrumentation. Since 2022, he has been developing a private astronomical observatory, integrating custom hardware and software solutions for observational automation.
Alexandru has also participated in the Mihai Konteschweller competition, receiving a special mention in 2017 and winning the grand prize in 2019. He later served as a jury member in 2021, 2022, and 2025, supporting young talent in electronics and embedded systems.
